The Americans capital company will invest 140 million dollars in a project in the Province of Buenos Aires.

AES Argentina faces the objective of building its first wind farm in the country

Buenos Aires - AES Argentina signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the Energética I wind farm, located in Tres Picos, in the south of the province of Buenos Aires. Within the conditions established in the agreement, the current strategic / financial partner CMS de Argentina will be replaced by AES Argentina Generación S.A.

The 79.8 MW project was awarded in Round 2 of the RenovAr Program and is close to the signing of the Renewable Electric Power Supply Contract to be signed with CAMMESA. This project proved to be the most competitive of what has been awarded under the various stages of the RenovAr program and will ensure efficient energy to be commercialized in the industrial market.

Once the process of transferring ownership of the park has been concluded and the contract with CAMMESA has been signed, construction will begin, with the commitment to inject its energy into the system within 20 months.

The president of AES Argentina, Martín Genesio, indicated that “this agreement is the beginning of the diversification of the AES Argentina portfolio in the country, where we have been present for 25 years. This investment, valued at approximately 140 million dollars, will be the beginning of the strong growth that the company has planned in the Argentine electricity sector.
